Sangha and Laity Training Program
The Sangha and Laity Training Programs was founded by Venerable Master Hsuan Hua in 1982. These programs were designed specifically to train Sangha members and laypeople interested in working for Buddhist groups. It is also a means of raising the quality of the Sangha and developing talented Buddhists who value both doctrine and application, thereby perpetuating the Proper Dharma and the wisdom of the Buddhas.
Besides studying the three major types of Buddhist teaching (Sutras, Vinaya, and Shastras), the curriculum also places special emphasising on living a life of purity in a monastic setting.
